Privacy Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
The short version. Your resume is written and built on your own device, not stored in a database here. It passes through our servers twice and is kept by neither: once to an AI service to be written, and once to an email service so a copy reaches your inbox. We have no database, no accounts, and no stored copy of your resume. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell anything about you to anyone.
Who's responsible
afreshai is operated by Elijah Robbyns, a sole proprietor based in Minnesota, United States, trading as "afreshai". For anything in this policy, email [email protected].
What we collect
Only what you type into the form:
- your name and email address
- your phone number and city/state, if you choose to add them
- the target role or industry, if you add it
- which situation describes you (returning, changing careers, after a layoff)
- the work history you paste or type in, and anything you write in your own words
Your contact details are used for one thing: printing them on your resume. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't send marketing.
If you join the launch list on the home page, that form is hosted by Airtable and your email is stored there until we open.
Where it goes
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Your work history, context and name | To write the resume and cover letter. Sent once, per draft. |
| Stripe | Your email and payment details | To take payment. Stripe is merchant of record. We never see your card. |
| Resend | Your email address and your finished resume and cover letter | To email you a copy of your documents after purchase. |
| Cloudflare | Your IP address and request data | Hosting and serving the site. |
| Google Fonts | Your IP address | Loading the fonts the site uses. |
| Airtable | Your email, if you join the launch list | Holding launch-list signups. Home page only. |
That's the complete list. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what they do with what they receive.
What we don't do
- No server-side storage. We run no database. Your resume passes through our servers in memory — on the way to the AI service that writes it, and on the way to the email service that sends your copy — and is never written to disk or kept.
- No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for and no password.
- No analytics or tracking. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party tracking cookies.
- No selling or sharing. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone beyond the services listed above.
- No training on your data. We don't use your resume to train anything.
Storage in your own browser
Because we don't store anything server-side, your draft has to live somewhere while you work on it. That somewhere is your own browser:
- Session storage holds your draft as you move between the review, checkout and download pages. It is erased automatically when you close the tab.
- Local storage holds one backup copy, written when you go to pay, so your draft survives the trip out to Stripe and back. Unlike session storage, this one outlives the tab.
That backup copy is deleted when you click Clear my details from this browser on the download page, and it expires automatically 24 hours after it was created. If you're on a shared or public computer, use that button when you're finished.
Neither of these is a tracking cookie. They hold your own draft, on your own machine, and are never transmitted to us.
The copy we email you
After you pay, your finished resume and cover letter are emailed to the address on your payment, so you still have them if this page closes or you were working on a machine that isn't yours.
To do that, the documents are built in your browser and passed through our server to Resend, our email provider, which delivers them. We keep no copy at either step. The email goes only to the address Stripe has for your payment — never to an address supplied by anyone else.
How long anything is kept
- By us: nothing. There is no copy to keep.
- In your browser: until you close the tab, click the clear button, or 24 hours pass.
- By Stripe: payment records, for as long as their obligations and tax law require.
- By Anthropic: according to their API data policies.
- By Resend: the email we send you, and its delivery record, according to their retention policy.
- In your own inbox: the emailed copy stays there until you delete it.
- By Airtable: launch-list emails, until we open or you ask us to remove yours.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to its processing.
In practice, most of this is already done: we hold nothing to show you, correct or delete. For your payment record, Stripe holds it as merchant of record — contact us and we'll point you the right way. For a launch-list email, email us and we'll remove it.
Children
afreshai is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the service, email us.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and payment is handled entirely by Stripe. The strongest protection here is structural rather than technical: there's no database of resumes to breach, because we never built one.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information in transit.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, we'll say so on the site.
